CRRA provides recycling services for towns served by its Connecticut Solid Waste System. At CRRA’s state-of-the-art single-stream recycling center, glass and plastic containers, steel and aluminum cans, newspapers and other materials are sorted and shipped to processors that turn them into new materials. CRRA can process more than 130,000 tons of recyclables each year.
At CRRA’s recycling center, containers like plastic bottles and aluminum cans are sorted and baled, then shipped to processors who turn them into new products.
In addition to the regional recycling centers, recycling takes place at the waste-to-energy plants, the landfills, and through special electronics collections. Learn more about CRRA's RECYCLING.
